Brian Villoria Retains Title
The Hawaiian Punch Brian Villoria retains the IBF Light Flyweight title when he won a 12-round unanimous decision over the number one contender Jesus Iribe in front of his hometown crowd in Honolulu, Hawaii. The bout was fast-paced and Villoria was completely in control of it by consistently mixing up a flurry of punches. Iribe broke his hand on the second round but showed great heart by making it to the end of the fight.
The scorecards were 118-110, 117-112, 117-111, all of which are in favor of Brian Villoria, thus giving him the unanimous decision victory. Both fighters actually had their own dominating moments but Villoria proved to be the more aggressive fighter. Brian Villoria retains the Title, thus making all his fans and countrymen proud.
